How To Get Shaymin In Legends Arceus And Complete The Request
Catching the mythical Pokemon Shaymin in Pokemon Legends Arceus offers players a rewarding post-game objective filled with nostalgia and unique encounter mechanics. To access Request 92, titled A Token of Gratitude, players must meet specific save data requirements on their Nintendo Switch console. Following the proper steps allows trainers to add both Land Forme and Sky Forme Shaymin to their Hisuian Pokedex roster.
Unlocking Request 92 A Token of Gratitude
To accept Request 92, your Nintendo Switch system must contain play records from Pokemon Sword or Pokemon Shield. Additionally, you must complete the main story campaign of Pokemon Legends Arceus and watch the credits roll. Once these conditions are met, head to the Galaxy Hall in Jubilife Village and check the request board inside Professor Laventon's office.
After accepting the request from the board, talk to Medi, an NPC located near the Obsidian Fieldlands base camp. Medi will share a heartwarming story about a mythical creature and give you a key item called the Gracidea flower. This item serves as both the key to finding Shaymin and the tool needed to transform its form later on.
Finding Shaymin in the Obsidian Fieldlands
Travel to the Floaro Gardens area located in the northwestern region of the Obsidian Fieldlands. Upon arriving, you will notice that the field of flowers has completely withered and lost its vibrant colors. Triggering the cutscene with Medi will cause the Gracidea flower to react, restoring the field into full bloom and summoning Shaymin.
Shaymin will appear in the middle of the restored flower field, ready for an encounter. Because Shaymin is easily startled, approach the area cautiously using stealth tactics. Utilizing Smoke Bombs or hiding in nearby tall grass will allow you to get close enough to initiate battle or catch it directly.
Catching Strategies and Form Changes
Before attempting to capture Shaymin, save your game manually in case the battle goes wrong. Sneaking up from behind to throw an Ultra Ball or Gigaton Ball increases your chances of a successful catch without fighting. If Shaymin detects you and flees, simply leave the area and return to reset the encounter.
Once Shaymin is in your party or pastures, you can use the Gracidea flower from your key items pocket during daytime hours. Applying the Gracidea will instantly change Shaymin from its Land Forme into its Grass and Flying-type Sky Forme. The Pokemon will revert to Land Forme at night or when stored in the pastures.
Completing the Request and Rewards
After successfully catching Shaymin, report back to Medi at the Floaro Gardens to finish the quest.
